I would like to start off my saying I forgot to take a picture of this delicious beverage in a cup (I’m terrible, what can I say lol). This sweet tea recipe is not ours and in no way are we claiming it. I did one thing different than the instructions, which was dissolve the sugar while the water was boiling. I give all credit to the website I found it on, you can find the link at the bottom of this post.
I will admit I have a thing for Sweet Tea, whether it be Mcdonalds or Arizona. I love them both! So instead of spending $1 every time I want sweet tea, I figured making it myself would be better. Without further ado below is the recipe.
- 6 Lipton tea bags
- 2 cups of sugar
- 4 quarts of water
- Bring 4 quarts of water to a rapid boil.
- Once the water reaches a boil, pour in 2 cups of sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Turn off the stove and take the pot off of the hot burner and put the 6 tea bags in the hot water to seep for an hour.
- After the hour has passed take out the tea bags and put into your preferred container or pitcher of choice.
- Serve over ice.
